James Muchmore - Partner - Corporate Department

James Muchmore advises clients on corporate, transactional and private investment fund matters, providing ongoing legal advice to private investment funds, publicly and privately-held corporations, company management and boards of directors. He also provides counsel regarding federal securities laws, public and private offerings, mergers and acquisitions, business transactions and corporate governance. In addition, Mr. Muchmore counsels clients engaged in the renewable energy space, including providing advice to entities engaged in the solar, biomass and fuel industries.

Mr. Muchmore counsels clients in connection with a variety of securities and corporate law matters, including the preparation of transactional documents related to mergers and acquisitions, joint venture agreements and limited partnership agreements; advice regarding private equity fund formation and deal execution; disclosure and compliance under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940; preparation of registration statements, annual reports, proxy statements and other Exchange Act and Securities Act reports; and responses to SEC and FINRA inquiries regarding adviser and issuer conduct and disclosure.

D. Scott Rendleman - Of Counsel - Litigation Department

D. Scott Rendleman is a member of the firm’s litigation group.  Scott is admitted to practice law in both  Illinois (1993) and Colorado (2008). With nearly two decades worth of experience in the state of Illinois, he moved to Colorado and joined Messner & Reeves to assist with Medical Malpractice Litigation.

Martindale-Hubbell designated D. Scott as an AV®-rated Attorney at the age of 37 in 2005. He has handled matters involving civil litigation, ranging from small premises liability actions to major product liability cases pending in Federal Court and medical litigation, including birth-injury, delay in diagnosing cancer, surgical errors, anesthesia errors and emergency department cases.
