Natural Resources

Our Natural Resources group combines our expertise in corporate, partnership, transactional and real estate work with specialized knowledge of the oil & gas and minerals industries.

Randal M. Kirk, who leads this group, has over 25 years experience working as a natural resources attorney.

His most recent work has been assisting Messner & Reeves clients on oil and gas property and infrastructure projects and joint venture proposals. During his career he has had extensive experience drafting agreements relating to hard mineral leases, oil & gas leases, the purchase and sale of assets, pipeline constructions, gas balancing, joint venture participations, supplier financing, commercial financing, drilling, exploration, production, services and operating agreements.

Mr. Kirk, a native-level Spanish speaker, assists clients negotiating in Central and South America as well as Europe and the United States. He has significant experience in dealings with Spanish-based industry players such as Repsol, Pemex in Mexico, the Venezuela national oil company regarding heavy oil, and has extensive background relating to Republic of Colombia—having worked at US Dept. of State Columbia desk.
