Abigail opened the New York office with Partner JC Mazzola in July 2013. Abigail’s practice focuses on representation of large and small businesses in litigation and other disputes.
Recently her practice has expanded to representation of local, regional, and national members of the restaurant and hospitality industry in individual and class action wage and hour litigation, covering claims for misclassification of employees, retaliation, spread of hours pay and other alleged violations. Her practice in this area extends to premises liability, liquor liability and food-borne illness claims. She also has experience defending against lawsuits alleging non-compliance with the American with Disabilities Act and related state and local laws.
Abigail also has defended class-wide antitrust and RICO claims levied against members of the London-based insurance market, and large-scale, domestic pharmaceutical litigation.
Abigail's practice also includes handling complex marine, energy and property claims for individuals and domestic and international corporations and insurers. She has experience with a wide range of property damage disputes, pollution liability, marine casualty claims, and construction and design disputes.
With a background in insurance, Abigail has analyzed claims for insurance coverage including a claim for the total loss of two marine container ships resulting from fire origination in the cargo.
Prior to joining Messner Reeves LLP, Abigail was the lead associate member of the Insurance-Reinsurance Practice Team for an AMLAW 100 Law Firm. Outside of the office, Abigail is active in community gardening in New York City.
