Mr. Meyer was one of only 8 attorneys recognized in Denver, Colorado. Kathleen J. Mowry is a member of the litigation practice group and works primarily in the Labor and Employment Group, including representing clients with Workers’ Compensation Matters. Ms. Mowry has nearly two decades of extensive litigation experience. She has handled every type of workers’ compensation matter, administrative proceeding filed with the EEOC and Colorado Civil Rights Division, and trials in both state and federal courts involving such issues as employment contacts disputes, retaliation claims, and sexual harassment, age, race, gender, and disability discrimination. Ms. Mowry's practice includes not only representing clients with litigated matters, but providing personal counseling services to counsel clients with respect to compliance issues, personnel matters, and effective strategies to lessen or avoid litigation if possible.

Maclain Joyce is a member of the firm’s Corporate and Restaurant & Hospitality Practice Groups. He works closely with individual and institutional clients across the country, from start-up and growth stage companies to Fortune 500 publicly traded entities. In Mac’s practice, he assists and advises his clients on matters of corporate formation and structuring, debt and equity financing, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate governance. Mac often acts as outside general counsel, providing broad ranging advice to entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and boards of directors in the hospitality, technology, services, and craft manufacturing fields. Matthew R. Sullivan is a partner in the firm's Real Estate, Corporate, and Restaurant & Hospitality Practice Groups. Mr. Sullivan's real estate practice focuses on a broad range of real estate transactions including leasing, acquisitions and dispositions of real estate, title review, workout and recovery agreements, foreclosure agreements, financing real estate and other related contracts and legal documents. Mr. Sullivan has extensive experience in negotiating with landlords in connection with commercial leases and lease disputes. He also represents a variety of creditors in bankruptcy matters, including handling Chapter 7, 11 and 13 proof of claim submissions and relief from automatic stay issues. Mr. Sullivan’s corporate practice focuses on representing public and private companies, with a focus on entity formation, structuring, debt and equity financing, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate governance. DENVER, November 10, 2015 -- Messner Reeves LLP is pleased to welcome four new Associate Attorneys to our Denver Office. On October 8, 2015 Brenna Lee Wolcott, Clement J. Hayes, Courtney A. McShane, and Margaret K. Mandeville received passing scores on the Colorado Bar Examination. On November 9, 2015 the four associates took their oath of admission. The admission ceremony was held at the Boettcher Concert Hall, in Denver, Colorado.

All four associates participated in the Messner Reeves Summer Law Clerk Program in 2014, where they worked closely with attorneys to gain real legal experience beyond the classroom. Each were able to attend client meetings, negotiations, depositions, trials, and court room hearings as well as drafting research memoranda, motions, briefs, and a broad array of transactional documents. Messner Reeves strives to be different than other firms by establishing a long term commitment to mentoring and developing our future Associates. We identify new candidates though various sources each year to participate in our Summer Clerk Program. Our interview process is extensive and includes three rounds of panel interviews with multiple attorneys at the firm ranging from Associates to Partners, as well as the firm’s founder and CEO, Corky Messner. Finalists are sent formal offers to join our Summer Law Clerk Program which includes eight weeks of summer experience, and a full-time, permanent Associate position with the firm following graduation, pending bar results.

Brenna Lee Wolcott and Margaret K. Mandeville join Messner Reeves’ Litigation Practice Group. Both attended University of Colorado Law School and graduated spring of 2015. Ms. Wolcott’s practice focuses on general civil litigation, labor and employment, insurance, and commercial litigation. Ms. Mandeville joins our Healthcare Litigation Group assisting physicians, mental health clinicians, and other healthcare providers.

Clement J. Hayes and Courtney A. McShane join our transactional team at Messner Reeves. Mr. Hayes’ practice focuses on Corporate, Taxation, and Intellectual Property. Mr. Hayes attended St. Mary’s University School of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude in 2015. Ms. McShane joins our Corporate and Real Estate Practice Groups, and is a University of Colorado Law School graduate.
