It is with regret that our firm announces the death of Daniel M. Hubbard

All of us at Messner & Reeves are very saddened to learn of the passing of our colleague and friend Daniel Hubbard on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the Hubbard family during this difficult time.

Please join Dan’s family and friends at his memorial service and reception at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2011 in the Forum at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, Ricketson Law Building, 2255 E.  Evans Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80208.  Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Dan Hubbard Memorial Fund, at Bank of the West, 1550 17th Street, Unit 120, Denver, CO 80202 or any Branch Office.

Dan was an Equity Partner at Messner & Reeves, LLC and a member of the firm's litigation department. He joined the firm in 2008 and focused on complex civil litigation cases. Over the span of his career he tried approximately 48 cases to verdict. Dan was a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates — an invitation-only organization of attorneys who have tried a minimum of 20 civil jury trials to conclusion. Dan served as Vice President (and President-Elect) of the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association and was named a SuperLawyer in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Not only was Dan a phenomenal lawyer, he was a tremendous leader and respected and appreciated by everyone. Dan was an avid cyclist and participated in several bike races including the Courage Classic law team “Wheels of Justice” and Ride the Rockies.

Hubbard’s expertise and friendship will be felt long into the future, and all of us at Messner & Reeves join many others in mourning his passing.

Dan is survived by his wife Lori and three children.
