Katherine E. Whitney
Ms. Whitney is an Associate in the firm’s Corporate, Labor & Employment and Real Estate practice groups. She focuses her practice primarily on regulatory compliance and commercial real estate. Katherine is committed to providing the highest level of service to her clients.
Katherine has significant experience in commercial finance, including real estate acquisition and development. She began her career in commercial lending and developed expertise in analysis and underwriting while working as a credit analyst.
Additionally, Katherine offers advice and representation to members of the firearms industry, including manufacturers and retailers, regarding compliance with the National Firearms Act, the Gun Control Act of 1968 and other state and local gun laws. She is known for her depth of knowledge and effective advocacy related to concealed carry laws, especially in Colorado.
Katherine earned her J.D. at the University of Colorado Law School where she expanded her business and legal experience by interning with the Honorable Judge David M. Furman on the Colorado Court of Appeals, a contract lobbyist, and a civil litigation firm. She was elected to the law school’s financial advisory board and served as an editor of The Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy.
When away from the office, she enjoys Schutzhund training and exploring Colorado’s back country with her Belgian Malinois.
