Matthew R. Sullivan

Mr. Sullivan is a partner in the firm's Real Estate, Corporate, and Restaurant & Hospitality Practice Groups. Mr. Sullivan's real estate practice focuses on a broad range of real estate transactions including leasing, acquisitions and dispositions of real estate, title review, workout and recovery agreements, foreclosure agreements, financing real estate and other related contracts and legal documents. Mr. Sullivan has extensive experience in negotiating with landlords in connection with commercial leases and lease disputes. He also represents a variety of creditors in bankruptcy matters, including handling Chapter 7, 11 and 13 proof of claim submissions and relief from automatic stay issues.

Mr. Sullivan’s corporate practice focuses on representing public and private companies, with a focus on entity formation, structuring, debt and equity financing, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate governance. Additionally, Mr. Sullivan has experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry representing and acquiring companies, financings, and joint ventures involving foodservice companies and serves as business counsel to clients across a range of industries utilizing his education and experience to advise his clients.

Mr. Sullivan is a graduate of Gonzaga University and The University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Mr. Sullivan also attended the University of Colorado, where he received his MBA.

Prior to joining Messner Reeves, Mr. Sullivan worked as Corporate Counsel for Red Robin International, Inc., focusing on Real Estate and Asset Management. His experience there included negotiating and drafting purchase and sales agreements, commercial leases, amendments, renewal amendments, estoppel agreements, and subordination non-disturbance and attornment agreements.
