As an associate of the Messner Reeves New York office, Ruofei has experience in all stages of civil and commercial litigation representing domestic and international clients ranging from asset management firms to biotechnology companies.
Ruofei has actively litigated diverse matters including commercial and real estate contracts, trade secrets, unfair competition, securities fraud, and product liability. Ruofei’s fluency in Mandarin Chinese allows her to offer distinct skills in facilitating the litigation process for Chinese-speaking clients doing business in the United States.
Ruofei also handles a wide array of insurance and defense coverage matters in the professional liability claims area to include insurance agents, real estate agents and other miscellaneous professional lines. Recently her practice has expanded to representation of local, regional, and national members of the restaurant and hospitality industry to include wage and hour litigation, covering claims for misclassification of employees, retaliation, spread of hours and pay and other alleged violations. She also has experience defending against lawsuits alleging non-compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Her practice in this area extends to premises liability, liquor liability and food-borne illness claims.
Ruofei's practice also focuses on handling complex marine, energy (alternative) and property claims. She also has experience with a wide range of property damage disputes, pollution liability, marine casualty claims, and construction and design disputes.
